Title: The Morning After
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Pairing: Severus/Remus
Challenge: morning after

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remus ached. Every fiber of his being ached. His muscles were strained and his tendons burned. It was typical of the morning after his transformation, the pain that seeped into every part of his body. Generally he woke up on the floor which only added stiffness to his grab bag of physical discomforts.
This morning he was in his bed. He opened his eyes, confused and disoriented at waking up where he hadn’t fallen asleep. He certainly hadn’t tucked himself comfortably under the covers.
It was then that his nose registered the familiar scent of potions, clinging to his sheets.
Word Count: 100
Pairing: Severus/Remus
Summary: Remus enjoys decorating for the holidays.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Decorating for Christmas was one of Remus’ favorite traditions. Even now as a full grown man he took delight in decking the halls and hanging the merriment from wherever he was allowed. And right now he was sneaking up on Severus Snape’s office.

“What are you doing, Lupin?”

Severus had eyes in the back of his head. Remus grinned sheepishly. “Just adding a bit of holiday cheer?”

“Severus snatched the sprig of mistletoe out of Remus’ hand. “Ah. Thank you, Lupin.”

Remus gaped. Severus thanking him? For mistletoe? He looked up, smiling hopefully.

“Phoradendron Flavescens makes a useful potions ingredient.”

Title: Muted Like In A Dream
Pairing: Severus/Remus
Challenge: Snow
Word Count: 100
Rating: G

The grounds of Hogwarts had been turned into a winter fairyland. It was always like that when the snow had first fallen, gleaming and white and frosted. Remus Lupin sipped his tea as he watched the last few flakes falling, enjoying a moment of peace. He preferred the snow under grey clouds rather than sun, the muted feel of the world making him think of something seen in a dream. As he watched the grounds, a black clad figure passed into his line of sight. Remus smiled warmly as he saw Severus lift his gloved hand to catch a snowflake.

Summary: Remus spends a painful anniversary at Grimmauld Place with an unexpected guest.
Challenge: Halloween

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remus shut the bedroom door and sat on the rickety chair before the table. Sirius had passed out drunk in his mother’s room a half hour before. Remus wasn’t surprised. He took out a book of matches and lit the candle with a shaking hand, the low light flickering over the glass frame that covered James and Lily. The door opening startled him.
“I was simply making my report and noticed…if you were perhaps ill…. With the moon on its way…your potion.” The words were stilted and mumbled and spoken into the floor.
“Thank you, Severus,” was all Remus said.
Title: More Terrifying Than Ghosts
Author: [livejournal.com profile] theladyfeylene
Rating: PG
Pairing: Snape/Lupin
Challenge: Ghostly Encounters
Summary: Severus knows there are more frightening things than ghosts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“I‘ve seen the ghosts in there, you know.”

Severus Snape scoffed at the claims of the third year students who were staring at the Shrieking Shack. They turned and glared at him but he said nothing more. There were no ghosts in the Shack - not of the spectral sort. But looking on that old and rickety building, Severus felt a chill slide up his spine that had nothing to do with the cold - and only a little to do with fear. He knew that what dwelled inside was far more frightening than any ghost.

And far more beautiful.

Challenge: Feathers

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remus shifted in half-wakefulness, the warm blanket of unconsciousness slipping slowly off of his mind. As the shroud of sleep fell away he was aware of the blanket resting about his hips, the lick of cold air on his shoulders, and the soft brush of something unfamiliar against his spine. He turned his head, eyes opening slowly. He felt the press of Severus’ bare knee against his side, smelled the scent of the other man on the pillow. He smiled as he saw Severus kneeling beside him, and sneezed as the feather in his lover’s hand passed beneath his nose.
Title: Empty Bed
Word Count: 100
Challenge: 'Incomplete'
Characters: Severus/Remus
Rating: PG-13
The bed was still empty. It had been three days since their fight, and Severus hadn’t slept a wink. Or eaten. Or anything, really. Remus was off doing Merlin knew what with Merlin knew who, and Severus was alone in what he had come to consider their bed. And all because he wouldn’t say those damned three words Lupin felt he needed. Words were simply words and meant nothing. Wasn’t what they shared enough? Wasn’t Severus‘ obvious pain and upset enough to let Lupin know he was loved? Obviously not.
Severus wondered if Remus felt as empty as he did.
Unforgiven
Title: Unforgiven
Pairing: Severus/Remus
Word count: 100
Challenge: Unforgivable
Summary: Severus can't let the past go
It had been nearly twenty long years since they’d last sat across from one another in Albus’ office. Severus stared straight ahead, arms folded and eyes dark. He wouldn’t look at Lupin, not even when the man looked at him. This time was strangely like the last time - two days after Lupin had nearly killed him. A plea that Severus turn a blind eye to Lupin’s disease, to work alongside of him. Severus turned, eyes narrowing on the mild looking man beside him. All he could see was the monster from years ago.
Some things could never be forgiven.
Challenge: Harry
Characters: (Remus/Severus) and Harry
“Sneaking around again, Remus?”
“Harry was…curious. As to what I was doing.”
Severus frowned, his thin lips turning down in a foul looking expression. Idiot Potter. Was Remus truly that concerned over the boy’s fragile ego that he wouldn’t even admit to a relationship?
“If you do not tell him, Remus, I will. I will not be an under the table lover.”
“I’ll tell him,” Remus promised, wrapping his arms around Severus and enthusiastically nibbling the man’s neck. Neither noticed the door to Severus’ office opening until it was too late.
Well. Potter wouldn’t need to be told after all.
Title: Moon Mother
Word Count: (100)
Rating: PG-13
Challenge: Moon
Characters: Remus/Severus
Authors Notes:
There were cultures that held the moon sacred. The secrets of the cycles of birth and death, they believed, were held in her waxing and waning. Her pull on the tides held as a testament of her power. The moon was the mother goddess, serene and benign. Remus Lupin held the moon in contempt. The cycle of man and beast that she held in her waxing and waning. The power she had over his mind and mood. She was his cruel queen, haughty and cold.
But he loved the way Severus’ skin looked in the moonlight, painted silver and white.
Title: Gone but Not Forgotten
Word Count: (100)
Rating: PG
Challenge: Photograph
Characters: Remus/Severus and Sirius
Authors Notes:
It caught him off guard, suddenly exposed by the falling of an old brown suede jacket. He had been clearing out space in the closet. Lupin - Remus, now that they were lovers - never threw anything away. Severus supposed he shouldn’t be surprised to find Sirius Black, young and vibrant, winking at him from a sepia toned photograph. The young Gryffindor‘s arm was slung about a young and blushing Remus. How long had the photo been hidden? It was well worn with love and age. With a noncommittal grunt, Severus dusted it off, and placed it on the mantle.
Characters: (Remus/Severus)
Authors Notes: Just a drabble combining two of my favorite things.
“Just give up, Severus!”
“Never. I’ll see you sobbing and bleeding on the floor before I surrender.”
It had all been Remus’ idea. He’d thought that it would be fun, get out a bit of stress. He’d known other people who had done it, and quite enjoyed it. Severus didn’t know about enjoy. He was stiff, he was aggravated, and he was clenching his teeth so hard they hurt.
“Severus, you’re bleeding out your ears and I don’t have a scratch on me. Give up.”
Severus just growled. How had he ever let Remus convince him to try video games?
“Severus, you can‘t expect me to stick that there.” Remus stared down at the strange rubber hose in his hand, frowning.
“I read the directions five times, Lupin, I know how it works. It’s hardly going to kill you.”
“It certainly might!” Remus looked from the thin hose to his lover and back, still very much not happy with the situation. “I’d rather not stick it there, if it’s all the same.”
“Oh for the love of….” Severus snatched the hose out of Remus’ hand and jammed the head into the wall. “There. Merlin, is electricity that difficult to comprehend?”
