Title: New Beginnings
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Challenge: 357: The First Day of Spring
Characters: Remus/Severus

“May Eostre bless you with fruitful new beginnings,” the matronly witch behind the counter murmured as she handed Remus his purchases.   He froze for half a beat before he remembered to respond.  It was something his grandmother used to say at Vernal Equinox and he had not heard the words in years.

He considered his new beginnings, his uphill battle toward reconnecting with Severus, the tentativeness of their new acquaintance, and the careful way they avoided discussing their past.  He let his mind conjure up an image of the fruit that seed could bear, and thanked her for the blessing.

Challenge: Every Man has his faults

So, I have a tendency to feel sorry for myself and dwell in the past, and maybe I am passive aggressive and moody... but he is cold and sarcastic and bitingly cruel to everyone... including himself, and if he cared half as much as I do, he would take better care of himself: wash his hair, eat better, and sleep normal hours.

... and he could tell me he loved me when it wasn't a special occasion like a holiday or a near-death-experience, and he could say he's sorry even if he's not... Like I would.

Title: Maternity
Challenge: It's... Pink
Word Count: 100

Severus turned up his nose at the proffered maternity wear. It was emasculating enough to be pregnant, without having to be seen wearing that... atrocity.

"What's wrong with it Severus?" Remus asked, hiding his amusement poorly

"It's... pink" Severus sneered, his nose wrinkling as if the word tasted particularly nasty in his mouth.

"Well, it's hard to find clothes for new mothers that are not... in pastels." Remus chimed in.

"Surely you can find ones that are not pink" Severus announced handing the garment back to Lupin in disgust. "Tonk's can have that one."

Challenge: "It's... pink."
Characters: Remus/Severus

Severus stared at the little white strip in disbelief. He understood the mechanics involved perfectly (after talking with the muggle pharmicist for twenty minutes on the scientific accuaracy of the test). There could be no doubt.

"What does the box say again Lupin?" he asked nervously eyeing the strip knowingly, willing it to change it's mind and go white again.

"White is a negative and pink is a positive. Severus, What does it say?" Lupin was trying to look over his shoulder and he hid it by instinct.

"It's... pink" he practically whispered.

How could he be pregnant?

Challenge: "You did what?"
Character: Remus and Severus
Word count: 100
Rating: PG

Snape was not usually one to open up and confess, but with the dark lord no longer being a pressing issue, the weight of deeds done were suddenly heavier on Severus' shoulders, and feeling increasingly sorry for himself as the night of celebration wore on, he began to confess the varied reasons for his self loathing.

"I can top that," Lupin whispered, motioning conspiratorially with one finger for Severus to lean closer. When Remus finally leaned back out of Severus' space, thin eyebrows had shot high on Snape's pale forehead.

"You did what?" He demanded with disbelief.

Lupin merely shrugged.

Word Count: 100 (a piece)
Rating: PG
Challenge: Halloween
Characters: Severus/remus/The rest of the order/The rest of the world
Authors Notes: Post HBP, Seven Acrostics, all spelling out Halloween (naturally)... not sure where I was going with this aside from pure boredom. They all connect to one another though I think they can be read separately... enjoy.

Title: The ghosts'of the living
Words: 100
Rating: PG
Challenge: #23 A ghostly encounter
Characters: Snape/Lupin

The bloody baron had never really intimidated Snape. Blank staring eyes, a gaunt face, and robes covered with mysterious ethereal blood, were not all that frightening, on the larger scale of things.

While walking through his home, a stray brown hair still clinging to his comb, one or two odd books on the shelf in his sitting room, and the teacup that Remus threw across the room when patience seemed pointless, could make his blood boil, in ways the bloody baron could never muster. The ghosts of the living were always somehow much worse than the ghosts of the dead.

Title: Epitaph
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Challenge: # 22 Cemetery
Characters: Remus and sortof Severus
Authors Notes: The idea for gravestones representing the people was taken from Great Expectations (at least the concept)

He knew as a grown man that it was a foolish notion to think that a gravestone should somehow be a representation of the person... Sirius had not even had one and Lupin was sure he would be buried little more than a pauper. Even so, the cold smoothness of the hard grey stone, the severe curves of letters etching out nothing more than a first and last name made his heart fall. This was no monument, but a bookmark of stone; mostly unmarked, painfully simple, understated and empty.

This was not Severus Snape.

Lupin walked away leaving nothing behind.
