It caught him off guard, suddenly exposed by the falling of an old brown suede jacket. He had been clearing out space in the closet. Lupin - Remus, now that they were lovers - never threw anything away. Severus supposed he shouldn’t be surprised to find Sirius Black, young and vibrant, winking at him from a sepia toned photograph. The young Gryffindor‘s arm was slung about a young and blushing Remus. How long had the photo been hidden? It was well worn with love and age. With a noncommittal grunt, Severus dusted it off, and placed it on the mantle.

Aw, I love it. I love that it's all worn and hidden in a jacket, like he kept it close and looked at it often.

Thank you! I wanted to really imply that Sirius was still, in some way, a part of Remus' life. And that Severus had accepted that.
