Title: Samhain
Word Count: 110
Rating: PG
Challenge: Ghostly encounters
Characters: Remus/Severus and a lot of other lost friends
Authors Notes: post HBP, part of ongoing sonnet obsession, but this time 10 words over.
Samhain
When Sirius did not become a ghost
Because he was a Griffindor, and brave
Then Harry felt the loss of him the most
No godfather, no portrait and no grave.
Now Remus stands to listen by the Veil
Where Sirius, James and Albus whisper still
No ghost or living person hears his wail
His lupine grieving howl against his will.
"Oh Severus, you let yourself be lost
You raised your wand against someone you loved.
I lose you too. Somehow I pay the cost
Of this Dark curse that has your treason proved.
I lose them all, the living and the dead
I hear them, whispering inside my head."
