“Did you hear that?”

“Hear what, Lupin?”

“That!”

Severus sighed irritably. “Probably a ghost. Honestly, I’d be better off cleaning out this store room.... What was that?”

“I just told you..." Lupin sighed. "It sounds like a Red Cap to me.”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Snape scoffed. “Red Caps can’t live inside Hogwart’s,” he added, trying to sound confident.

“Oh, really?”

“Really.”

“Then what are those?”

Snape turned to see two Red Caps moving towards them. Both wizards quickly pulled their wands and hexed the creatures.

After pocketing his wand, Remus turned to Severus, smirking. “Just a ghost?”

“Shut up, Lupin.”

Challenge: #23 A Ghostly Encounter

“What is that supposed to be?”

Remus had thrown the front door open, bowl of candy in hand, expecting a group of children. Instead he found himself face to face with a dour Potion’s Master.

“It’s my costume. I’m a ghost.”

“You’re wearing a sheet over your head. I don’t see how that qualifies as a ghost.”

“I can’t turn myself translucent – this is a Muggle neighbourhood. Anyway, it’s based off of a Charlie Brown movie.”

“Hmmph.”

“Besides, you’re not seeing the best part.”

“I highly doubt there can be a ‘best part’.”

Remus grinned at his lover.

“Easy access.”
