Decorating for Christmas was one of Remus’ favorite traditions. Even now as a full grown man he took delight in decking the halls and hanging the merriment from wherever he was allowed. And right now he was sneaking up on Severus Snape’s office.

“What are you doing, Lupin?”

Severus had eyes in the back of his head. Remus grinned sheepishly. “Just adding a bit of holiday cheer?”

“Severus snatched the sprig of mistletoe out of Remus’ hand. “Ah. Thank you, Lupin.”

Remus gaped. Severus thanking him? For mistletoe? He looked up, smiling hopefully.

“Phoradendron Flavescens makes a useful potions ingredient.”

(Think there's an extra quotation mark in your fourth paragraph!) Great punchline. Poor Remus - though now he has an excuse to sneak into Snape's personal quarters and use an entire sack full of mistletoe, useful Christmas present for Severus, of course... ;D
