"Someone is casting alohamora on the door," Phineas Nigellus told the headmaster.

"It's non-verbal, therefore not a student," Severus said. He had his wand out.

"He won't be able to--" the portrait was cut off mid-sentence by the door banging. Remus Lupin had got in.

"Your password is Dumbledore?" The werewolf had a wand out.

"Why are you here?"

"Why are you here, Snape?" Lupin grabbed the front of his robes. "Here, in Dumbledore's office?"

"Don't go for help," Severus told the portraits, though Lupin had pushed him down onto the desk and had his hands around Severus' throat.
