"A festscrift in my honor?" Severus tossed the letter into the bin. "He's mad to think that anyone will contribute."

"I think you need to trust him." Remus, hair now the color of polished pewter, summoned the letter. "He claims he's already lined up several possibilities, including Hermione Granger. It sounds like a lovely idea."

"They sound like they're ready to shove me into retirement." Severus ignored the twinge from his hip as he stood. "Centennial edition, indeed."

"It's only because people admire you."

Severus paused. "It's not as if I can stop them."

"Good," said Remus. "You deserve it."
