Time was all Severus had asked for. He would have a cure. Each month brought with it a new development followed by failure. Remus gave up hope.

Severus pleaded for one more try. He asked that Remus take only one more risk. After all, he had taken a risk when he allowed Remus into his life.

Remus reluctantly agreed. He drank the potion and waited alone in the cell reserved for his transformations. Nothing happened. Nothing. He was still a man.

Because of Severus’ determination, he was able to admire the beauty of the full moon for the first time.
