"I'm glad to be home," Remus grumbled as he unlocked the door.

Severus had dragged him all over Diagon Alley and what felt like half of Muggle London, running boring errands all afternoon; he wouldn't even let Remus stop in Fortesque's for a strawberry sundae.

"You'll ruin dinner," Severus said, apparently having forgotten Remus' birthday. Remus didn't remind him, not wanting to quarrel.

He opened the door-

"SURPRISE!"

-and was showered by streamers and confetti. His friends brought a pile of presents and a giant strawberry cake.

"It was Severus' idea," Molly said.

Remus embraced him. "My home sweet home."
