Curses were flying through the air around Hogwarts like lightning, like a swarm of insects. Severus dove for cover, and found himself in a ditch with Lupin.
Lupin looked at him, dirt smeared across his face, and grinned a frightened grin. He had a cut across his arm, and his non-wand hand looked burned. He saw Severus' eyes on his hand and shrugged.
Bloody Gryffindor.
Severus looked around. There didn't appear to be any escape.
Lupin leaned over, and kissed him on the cheek.
Severus raised an eyebrow.
"Isn't it traditional to make advances in the event of imminent death?"
