"What in Merlin's name… ?"

Severus stood in the yard surrounded by feathers. Drifts and piles of feathers, feathers in his hair and adhering to his clothing, feathers floating in the calm, morning air.

"I was trying to resurrect that old feather mattress we found in the attic. I think my fluffing charm was a little too… vigorous."

"Why… ?" Remus bit his cheek to keep from laughing.

Severus looked away. "They say it's like floating on a cloud."

Remus folded Severus in his arms and plucked a feather from his hair. "Any bed I share with you is paradise."
