"How did you know I was 'Thoughtful'?" Remus murmured. His leg still ached a bit, and he'd had to ask Andromeda to keep Teddy overnight, but he felt at peace for the first time since - longer than he could remember.

"Your handwriting, of course." One could barely see the scars on his neck in the firelight. "Auntie Agonistes has a long memory."

"Does she, now?" Remus leaned forward to kiss him again. "Never dreamed it was you."

Severus kissed back, long and slow and deliberate. "Never thought you'd take my advice."

"It paid off, didn't it?"

"That it did."
