"I know your great secret." Lupin stood in the doorway, one near-skeletal hand clutching the latch. Why had Poppy released him so soon?

"What secret?" said Severus. "Thanks to Potter, everyone knows that I spied for Dumbledore, took antivenin, and managed to dodge before Nagini could tear out my throat."

"You still have one. I read Lily's diary."

Severus went cold. "You had no right to - "

"She knew you were gay, Severus." Lupin crossed the room to stand before Severus. "So am I."

"You - "

"Yes." Lupin smiled. "We need to talk."

"That we do," murmured Severus.
