Title: Disco (Still) Sucks!
Challenge: dancing
Word Count: 100

"It's not so much the dancing. It's the music." Severus had spent most of the evening teaching the Slytherins the basics of dancing for the Minister's visit.

"What, you're sick of Sir Roger de Coverley?" Remus mimed the steps.

Severus made a disgusted sound. "No such luck. Someone decided that since the Hobgoblins will be performing, we should learn real, 1970's dances."

Remus froze in place. "You don't mean - "

Severus waved at the gramophone. There was a burst of electronica, then a reedy voice filled the room.

"'That's the way a-huh a-huh I like it - "

"AAAIIIEEEE!!!!!"

Remus Lupin was a wonderful dancer. Severus watched him guide whatever-her-name-was, the Hufflepuff from their Form who always chewed gum with her mouth open, across the Great Hall’s dance floor, Gene Kelly partnered with an ox in a cloud of pink dress. Nobody should be so handsome, he thought, or so graceful. Dancing skill was something adults had, not boys who weren’t yet 15.

The Hufflepuff laughed. So did Remus. The happy sound drove Severus from the dance and back to the solitary world of Slytherin House, his world.

That night in his dreams, Severus laughed and waltzed with Remus.

Title: Seventy-six
Words: 100
Rating: G
Prompt: Dancing
Warning: sap

The anniversary goes unremarked by the wizarding world at large.

Last year, of course, there was a gala event: seventy-five years since the end of The War. The banners were huge and obnoxious (Harry Potter! Harry's Friends! Great Men! And some spies who really weren't that important). The party went into the night, with streamers and fireworks and dancing throughout.

This year, there is nothing. Seventy-six years isn't special.

Unless, Severus thinks, one's aging werewolf partner insists on struggling from his chair to stand, so they can dance at home to horrible perfect disco from their youth.

Then, it's special.
