Severus Snape had been classified as a Broken Man.
It was quite obvious to those who chose to take a look past the harsh, cold, overdressed exterior into what they decided was a romantic, mysterious, battered and possibly kinky soul. Like a Muggle cookie – one with the dark, chocolatey outside and the sugar center.
But Severus barely ever let anyone see the soul that was most definitely not the interior of a cookie, not even remotely sugary.
Remus Lupin had done… extensive research into Severus' soul. His conclusion? Not broken, but incomplete. So he set out to complete Severus himself.

"Hello, Severus," Remus smiled amiably. "Might I come in?"
Severus stood aside. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I was wondering where you've been these past few days," Lupin said offhandedly. "You haven't been at meals, and I was curious."
"I've been fine-tuning potions. It requires time."
"Ah. Of course." Remus nodded, feeling rather foolish. "I'll just go then –"
"I need your help."
"S-sorry?"
"A blood sample. And my Wolfsbane notes are… incomplete."
Remus gaped.
"It can do with some improvement, can it not?" Severus said curtly.
Remus beamed and smoothly kissed a bewildered Slytherin. "Of course."
