The room was darkened, and not many people were left. Remus had come and gone all night, smiling at everyone around them. Severus sat in the corner, sulking.

“Try it,” Remus whispered. “You’ll like it.”

“Unlikely,” the Potions Master quipped. “I’ve had enough public humiliation to last a lifetime.”

“There’s barely anyone left.” Severus declined.

“I promise to obliviate you if doesn’t go well.” Severus just pursed his lips tighter. “I’ll let you try that thing with the silk worms…”

“Oh, all right. I’ll never hear the end of it, otherwise.” He made his way to the front.

“Oh, Mandy…”
