"Severus?"

"Lupin. Go away."

"No."

"I'm warning you only once. This is no time--"

"I don't agree. This is exactly time."

"Silen--"

"Expelliarmus. Severus. I'm no threat, and you shouldn’t be alone."

"You presume to know what I need? For reference, I am always alone."

"Not right now."

"Lupin, just go."

"I remember when my mother died, you know."

"I doubt our experiences are similar."

"Still, I would sit with you."

"Why?"

"So you don't have to sit alone."

"…Why?"

"Shh. Tomorrow is good for talking. Now is good for remembering."

"…The service felt worse than I expected."

"I know."

He needs comforting. Which Lupin will be offering, just not quite yet. But I imagine him sitting down next to, just the sides of their knees touching, and sitting there staring into the fire quietly. *nods*

This is sweet in a good way, and feels so in character. I like the way Snape finally starts talking after Remus has told him to shh.

That was lovely and, in the end, very wistful. I actually felt sorry for Snape. Nicely done.
