Characters: Severus Snape/Remus Lupin
Warning: Infidelity. Yawn. But hey, nobody dies.
Severus was exhausted. One would have thought that after all these years, maintaining a double life would be second nature to him, the lies would fall from his tongue as easily as the careless endearments he murmured to Remus every night.
Was he getting old? Perhaps he should cease these sordid affaires – they meant nothing to him, after all.
But boredom, he had found, sucked at his very soul. He needed the thrill, the fear of getting caught – although even that, lately, had begun to pall.
Perhaps it was time for a new approach.
Perhaps he would start making mistakes.
