“Severus? We were concerned when you weren’t at dinner.”
“Lupin. That preening ninny Malfoy thought it would be amusing to hit Potter with a lust spell.”
“And?”
“He missed.”
“Oh dear. So you’re, ah – “
“Yes. And this particular spell requires a partner for the effects to be… mitigated.”
They’d never been friends, but Remus couldn’t help feeling sorry for Severus. “Look, I know it’s not ideal, but I’d be willing to, er, give you a hand…”

Severus reclined contentedly reliving his best shag in ages.
Now he just had to come up with another story for next time…
