Severus shook out the newspaper and focused on the pre-Christmas ads from Insane Ianthe's Discounts Galore. "I never ran a charity for house elves."
Remus leaned over his shoulder. "She's doing a public service. The least we can do is send her a few galleons."
Severus scowled at him. Granger ran the only sanctuary for displaced elves in Britain, and God knew it was needed after the War.
"If you must," he said at last. "But I don’t want to see the thank you note. Her handwriting is terrible."
