Title: Gardening
Challenge: Bed
Word Count: 100
Note: this is yet another mini-sequel to "Motherless Child." Warning for soppiness.
The soil was rich and dark with compost, crumbling slightly as he planted each seedling in turn. Aconite in this bed, comfrey in this one, pennyroyal here, bloodwort and bonewart and all the other medicinals he would need for a growing family.
Remus knelt beside him, John on one hip. "We've finished planting the kitchen garden, love." He chuckled as the baby grabbed at his hair with a loud "BA!" "Lunch?"
Severus stripped off his gloves and cast a cleaning spell on his hands for good measure before taking John. Their son smelled of earth and sky. "Definitely," Severus murmured.
