Interior Scars

 

 

Remus finds his scars reassuring in their simplicity.  They can be seen, felt.  They are marks of pain but also of healing.

 

Severus’ skin is smooth as satin but there gashes and tears inside of him.  They can’t be touched.  There is no way to measure the damage they do or the pain they inflict. 

 

They can only be seen in the fear or hurt that will momentarily cross Severus’ face when he hears a parent speaking harshly to their child, or someone touches him unexpectedly. 

 

Remus wonders if they are scars or still wounds that have yet to heal.

Oh, sad! :( It gave me such a mental picture of a flinching, uncomfortable, sad Severus at the unexpected touch. One should hope Remus can make it a bit better for him.
